Davao's Sumogat wins again in URCC
DAVAO’S
very own Jonathan “Spartan” Sumogat defeated Russel Iniong by submission via
Rear Naked Choke in the first round of their fight in the Universal Reality
Combat Championship 22: Dekada held last December 1 at the SM Mall of Asia
Arena in Pasay City.
Sumogat, an
assistant instructor of the Cenojas Mixed Martial Arts-Kamphuis Fabricio Davao used his groundstrokes and grappling skills to
post his fourth straight win in the sport.
“To God
be the glory!,” said Sumogat’s coach-trainer Mars Cenojas.
The
other results in the 10th year anniversary celebration presentation
saw Lowen Tynanes stopped Eduard Folayang by a technical knockout due to a cut
in the first round in a Super Fight Title; Eric Kelly beat Brad Terrery by
submission (armbar) in the third round; Reysaldo Transmonte defeated Hideo
Morikawa by unanimous decision in round two;
Jessie Rafols beat Keiff Mangusan by submission (rear naked choke) in
round 1 for the bantamweight title; Rodrigo Praxedes won by a unanimous
decision over Froilan Sarenas to win the middleweight title; Caloy Baduria def. Panchito Estoro by
TKO (Punches), R1; Reydon Romero def.
