DAVAO CITY -- The Blue Team composed of the 10
Under Moms emerged champion in the Ateneo de Davao University (ADDU) Soccer Mom
Football Festival 2012 held Sunday at the ADDU Matina football field.
The Blues scored a 2-1
win via penalty shootout over the Red team of the High School Moms in the
exciting championship match. The penalty shootout was played after both teams
had identical one win and three draws in the elimination round.
Yellow (8 Under Moms)
settled for second runner-up followed by Orange (12 Under Boys/Girls Mom) and
White (6 Under Moms) in that order.
White, however, took
home the Fair Play award.
Blue’s Anabelle
Amaikurot bagged the Most Valuable Player award while teammates Bai Lim and
Sharon Balahay were the best goalkeeper and defender, respectively.
Red’s Alice Valdez was
the best striker while Rochele Barcemo, also of Red was adjudged as the Soccer
Mom 2012.
Special awards were
given to Orange’s Georgette Romero-Salas (best in soccer attire) and Jovel
Francisco (Miss Congeniality).
The Blue team was also
played by Paula Echavez, Lani Matalam, Jihan
Cuevas, Riza Garfin, Tina Feliciano, Jocelyn Megallon , Maleng Oropa, and Marilou
Timbol and Luz Floresta.
Reynalyn Ravanes, coach
of the 6th time Alaska Cup champion Ateneo girl’s elementary team, had
organized the seven a-side one-day festival.
“This time, it was now the
turn of the children to cheer for their moms,” Ravanes said. LDR
