DAVAO CITY – Everything is now set for the Run for Kids this Sunday, Dec. 15 in an out and back course at Roxas Avenue, this city.
“This is for the benefit of our Kids’ athletics program in Davao,” said Jose Alther Rivera of the organizing Vantage Sports at the weekly SCOOP of the Royal Mandaya Hotel last Tuesday.
The event is co-organized by the Davao City Track and Field
Association (DCTAFA) and supported by Soleus, Crystal Clear Water, Power Sports Run RunRio and Adidas Gaisano Mall. There will be a 21K Open, 21K team, 5K open, 3K Kids Team and 3K for Kids (aging 12 years old and below).
“Each team shall be composed of two runners, regardless if both boys or girls or mixed,” said Rivera, a former national track and field campaigner turned physical education teacher at the Davao City National High School.
The 21K runners will have their turning point at the Sasa Ferry Terminal while the 5K at Aeon Towers in Bajada and 3K at El Bajada Hotel. Registration fees are P700 for 21k team, P350 for 21K open, P200 for 5K, P400 for 3K team and P200 for 3K individual.
All 21K runners will get a finisher’s medal aside from the free singlet and bib, while the 5K and 3K runners will each get singlet, bib and finisher’s certificates. Registration is still on-going at the Adidas Gaisano Mall from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. until Saturday. LDR
